One of the reports deals with the best locations for a OSW(OffshoreWind) manufacturing & fabrication facility, or a staging and installation port. The report considered many locations on Long Island but concluded, "Due to its size, accessibility, and industrial use, the Shoreham Nuclear Plant is the only existing site identified on Long Island that could be used an OSW manufacturing & fabricating facility or a staging port. However, the old power station buildings remain on the property, and the entrance channel would have to be deepened and straightened to accommodate OSW vessels access.
